Vacuum Casting
With Vacuum Casting it is possible to produce small series of copies from a master pattern. If you quickly need some parts for testing or presentation Vacuum Casting is an interesting technology. If you only need a limited series of production parts Vacuum Casting can be an economic production technology. A lot of materials are availble, rigid as well as elastic plastics.
A master pattern is used to cast a Silicon Mold. This master pattern can be produced with our 3D-Printers. Especially PolyJet and Stereolithography are suitable to print the master pattern. This master pattern is finished to achieve the desired surface quality, from textured to high gloss surfaces. The casted part is an exact copy of the master pattern, but with the required material properties. The number of parts that can be casted with 1 silicon mold is depending on the product shape and the used casting resin. Normally a lifetime of 20 castings is guaranteed, but sometimes 40 or more can be possible. Als multiple cavity molds are possible when you need a larger number of parts. The casted parts do have the look and feel of injection molded parts. Also multiple component parts (2K or more) are possible.
